What's new: 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2023 GMC Sierra 1500
For 2024, the 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder Duramax® diesel is now the standard powertrain for the AT4X off-road trim. In addition, both horsepower and torque have been increased with the diesel engine. Finally, the turbocharged high-output engine has been renamed the TurboMax.
Design
On the outside, the new 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 gives Melrose and Elida buyers two new wheel option as well as two new exterior paint choices: Thunderstorm Gray and Downpour Metallic. Inside the cabin, the new GMC Sierra 1500 is designed with an environment centered on the driver with controls that are easy to reach and quality that gets elevated as you move up the trim ladder. You can get an available 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a head-up display along with a power-adjustable steering column. At the Denali Ultimate trim level you can get luxury features like open-pore wood trim and leather covered surfaces.

Performance and towing
For 2024, the new GMC Sierra 1500 gives Friona TX buyers some strong powertrain choices including four powerful engines, two transmissions and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that's good for 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. If you prefer the extra power of a V8, the Sierra 1500's 5.3-liter engine can generate 355 horsepower and the 6.2-liter V8 comes with 420 horsepower. The six-cylinder diesel powertrain generates 460 pound-feet of torque. You'll get 13,200 pounds' worth of maximum towing capacity and if you select a Denali Ultimate model with the 6.2-liter V8 you can reach 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
Technology and safety
The new GMC Sierra 1500 is equipped with a standard 13.4-inch touch screen and you can add an available a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system comes with standard wireless smartphone connectivity and this truck also offers an available Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers plus wireless device charging. Standard safety features include front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, automatic high-beam headlights and a lane-change alert. Available safety options include blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view camera system, rear cross-traffic alert and a rear camera mirror that can stream a view of what's behind you to the rearview mirror.
