What's new for 2025 in the Chevy Equinox
The Equinox is getting a complete redesign for the 2025 model year to give this popular SUV a look that's more athletic. This new 2025 Equinox will continue to be powered by a trustworthy internal combustion engine so you won't have to worry about range anxiety, long charging times or the difficulty of finding public charging stations. Reports indicate that the 2025 Chevy Equinox should come to our dealership by the end of 2024.
Changes in trim levels for the 2025 Chevy Equinox
Chevrolet has reduced the number of trim levels for the 2025 model year down to three. The 2024 Equinox had four trims to choose from: LS, LT, RS and Premier. For 2025, the Chevy Equinox will drop the LS and the Premier trims, retain the LT and RS at the bottom and the top, respectively, and add a new Activ model in the middle of the lineup. Both the mid-level Activ and top-level RS have a lot going for them. The Activ has a more rugged appearance and the RS gives you more of a street-style design. Whichever model you prefer, you'll get unique wheel designs, more available equipment and an optional two-tone exterior color pattern.
A comparison of the engine and performance
The 2025 Chevy Equinox has the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as it did in 2024 and you'll still get 175 horsepower. Front-wheel drive models come with a continuously variable automatic transmission and if you go with all-wheel drive, you'll have an eight-speed automatic. It's expected that the 2025 Chevy Equinox will take you to 60 mph in about 8.0 seconds. If you select all-wheel drive, which is available on all trims, you'll get a towing capacity of up to 1500 pounds. Fuel economy will continue to be 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
A comparison of interiors
Both the 2025 Chevy Equinox and the 2024 model offer a generous amount of space for people and cargo. For 2025, the interior styling is modern, giving you a blend of digital and physical controls. Cloth upholstery comes standard and the 2025 Equinox offers available faux-leather upholstery. In the 2025 Activ trim, you can get vinyl with microfiber for a more premium appearance. The 2025 Equinox has a shift lever mounted on the column to create more space for storage in the center console. That's where you can find a rotary knob controller to operate the infotainment system along with two handy cupholders.
A comparison of technology
Chevy has done a significant upgrade in the technology that will be available with the 2025 Equinox. In the 2024 model, your choices are a 7.0-inch touchscreen or an 8.0-inch optional upgrade. But the 2025 Chevy Equinox takes a big step forward by providing two large digital displays mounted on the dashboard in every model. There's an 11.3-inch infotainment display in the center and it's angled slightly toward the driver. Directly in front of the driver you'll find a separate 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster with reconfiguration options so you can make customizations based on your preferences.
